What will the Oil give up? I may be the only Leaf fan who thinks Phanuef is a good D but has no to play with, so I hate him gone for nothing. A 20+ min a game guy who plays against top players is tough to replace. I think we need Eberle back or the 3rd overall pick. Even if we have to include other picks/players with Dion. I just hope their is a plan to replace him, cuz making Reilly our best D now is not something I look forward to as a Leaf fan

Even though its highly assumed Stastny resigns with the Avs, you know his agent said they won't resume talks till the 20th. So don't know how they are getting closer if they have talked in a few weeks

I grew up around Toronto and live in a Alberta, so I have two teams I pull for, Edmonton in the west and Toronto in the east. I feel that some type of swap between the two that has Phaneuf coming to Edmonton could be good for both teams.

Sure there is a chance that Nurse doesn't turn out as expected, but I'd rather take the risk with him than have that hefty contract.

They have lots of youth, but this trade would make the Oilers a better team right now, and give both teams the culture change they're looking for.

7 mil is a lot to pay for 7 years .
